SUMMARY OF THE SECOND LECTURE:
The instructor, followed by a brief recap of the previous lecture, asked the students to write an article that summarizes his last lecture.
After the students had completed writing their reports, all the points they had covered were discussed. Also, the weak points of students in general were pointed out. Moreover, the instructor explained three points that an ideal ‘technical writing’ article must contain. The points are as follows:

1.     Writer’s main focus must always be the ‘audience’ he intends to write for. To keenly observe the audience and their caliber then write accordingly should be his priority.
2.     The ‘objective’ of writing the article holds equal importance. One should keep in mind the reason behind writing and must avoid getting out of track.
3.     Once the article is completed, it must be checked that whether or not the reader would come up to a valid conclusion i.e. the article must be conclusive.

In order to ensure that the students have grasped the description well, another writing activity was assigned by the instructor and the students evaluated each other’s articles.
In the end, the differences between the mindsets of a ‘business report writer’ and a ‘technical report writer’ were explained using drill down technique.

The instructor winded up the lecture by asking the students to write a brief report of how much they have learned and understood.
